FAQ
How do I commission a custom papercut piece?
You may contact me via email, Instagram or the contact form on this website.
What is the process of a commissioning a papercut piece like?
It is a very collaborative process. I often begin by asking clients what they have in mind – a broad vision of what the image is supposed to capture. It could be a special occasion, a memory, a sentimental object.
It can also begin with reference images/photos or the physical space the papercut is meant to fill. After understanding more about the client and the subject, I will work on a sketch for them before commencing the papercutting process.
What are your rates for commission work?
Rates are dependent on the size and complexity of the project. Every piece is cut and assembled by hand unless otherwise stated and it takes hours and days from conceptualizing to making. As no two pieces are the same, do speak to me personally and I can give you a better quote.
What is the lead time for commission work?
It depends on my current schedule as well as the complexity of the piece. If you have a deadline in mind (a birthday, a launch date, etc) do reach out to me and we can discuss.
I don’t have a project in mind, can I purchase your original work?
Currently, I have a few pieces of work available for purchase on my instagram. If you find something you like on my page, do reach out to me. I am also working on listing more original works for sale in future.
How else can we collaborate?
I am open to all kinds of opportunities! Pop-ups, workshops, exhibitions, you name it… Drop me a message via email or my contact form and we can chat more :)
How do I care for my papercut piece?
Do ensure that it is properly framed and not exposed to any form of moisture. Dust or wipe it down with a dry brush or cloth. The papers I use are chosen because of how lightfast and fade resistant they are. However, as a precaution, do keep it away from prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
